Taking Care of Yourself — The Foundation of Everything
Before a young person can truly thrive in education, in work, or in relationships, they need to feel okay in themselves. Personal Wellbeing is about giving students the knowledge, tools, and language they need to understand and look after their own mental and physical health — and to build the resilience that helps them navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
At Elevate Training, we approach Personal Wellbeing with warmth, care, and real honesty. This isn’t a subject delivered from a textbook it’s a safe, supportive space where students can explore important topics, ask real questions, and start to understand themselves and the world around them a little better.
Many of the young people we work with have faced significant challenges in their lives. This course is designed to meet them where they are, and to help them build a stronger, healthier foundation for everything that comes next.
What’s Covered
Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Students explore what mental health really means and, crucially, that looking after it is just as important as looking after your body. Topics include understanding emotions, recognising stress and anxiety, building coping strategies, and knowing when and how to ask for help.
Physical Health & Healthy Lifestyle Good physical health and good mental health are closely connected. Students learn about nutrition, sleep, exercise, and the choices that support a healthy, balanced lifestyle without judgement, and with a focus on what feels achievable and sustainable.
Resilience & Managing Setbacks Life doesn’t always go to plan and that’s okay. This module helps students understand what resilience means, how to develop a growth mindset, and how to recover from setbacks, disappointments, and difficult experiences in healthy and constructive ways.
Healthy Relationships Whether with friends, family, or romantic partners, healthy relationships are built on respect, honesty, and good communication. Students explore what healthy and unhealthy relationship patterns look like, how to set and respect boundaries, and where to turn if they need support.
Online Safety & Digital Wellbeing Young people spend a significant part of their lives online and the impact on wellbeing can be profound. This module covers safe online behaviour, managing screen time, recognising the influence of social media, and protecting personal safety in digital spaces.
Self-Esteem & Identity Many of our students have experienced situations that have dented their confidence and sense of self-worth. This module gently explores identity, self-image, and self-esteem — helping students recognise their own value and build a more positive relationship with themselves.
