The beauty industry is one of the most exciting, creative, and people-focused sectors you can work in — and at Elevate Training, we give Pre-16 students a genuine, immersive introduction to all of it. Our Hair & Beauty course goes far beyond a single subject. We cover the full world of professional beauty, giving students the breadth of knowledge and hands on experience they need to build real confidence and a real future.
Whether a student is drawn to the artistry of makeup, the precision of nail treatments, the creativity of hair styling, the delicacy of lash work, or the science of skincare — there is something here for everyone. And for many of our students, this is where they first discover what they’re truly passionate about.
What’s Covered
Our Hair & Beauty Pre-16 provision is delivered across five interconnected areas:
Hair Styling Students are introduced to the fundamentals of hairdressing — understanding hair types, sectioning, basic cutting techniques, blow-drying, and styling. They learn about salon culture, professional standards, and how to communicate with clients, laying the groundwork for a career as a stylist, colourist, or salon professional.
Nail Treatments From basic nail preparation and filing techniques to nail art and the application of treatments, students develop the precision and care needed to work
professionally with clients. They learn about nail health, hygiene protocols, productknowledge, and client consultation — all essential skills in this growing area of the beauty industry.
Makeup Artistry Students explore the world of professional makeup, from understanding skin tones and face shapes to applying foundation, contouring, eye makeup, and finishing techniques. They discover how makeup can enhance confidence, express creativity, and open doors to careers in fashion, film, bridal, and commercial makeup.
Lash Application Lash treatments are one of the fastest-growing areas in the beauty industry, and our students get an exciting introduction to this specialist skill. They learn about different lash types and styles, safe application methods, aftercare advice, and the importance of working with precision and care.
Skincare Great beauty begins with great skin. Students learn about different skin types, cleansing and moisturising routines, basic facial treatments, and how to advise clients on
skincare. This subject blends science and artistry, giving students a well-rounded understanding of the skin and how to care for it professionally.
