The Skills Behind Every Successful Organisation
Every business no matter what it does or how big it is needs people who can keep things organised, communicate clearly, and make sure the right things happen at the right time. Business Administration is one of the most versatile and widely valued skill sets in the UK job market, opening doors in virtually every sector imaginable.
At Elevate Training, our Business Administration course gives Pre-16 and Post-16 students a thorough, practical grounding in the skills and knowledge needed to work confidently in an office or professional environment. It’s a course that builds not just employability, but the kind of self-organisation, attention to detail, and professional confidence that serve students in every area of their lives
What’s Covered
Communication in the Workplace Clear, professional communication is the foundation of effective administration. Students develop written and verbal communication skills, learning how to draft emails and letters, handle telephone enquiries, take messages accurately, and communicate with colleagues and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
IT and Digital Skills Modern business runs on technology, and our students gain practical experience using the key tools of the modern office. This includes word processing, spreadsheets, email management, filing systems, and an introduction to databases all delivered in a hands-on, practical way.
Organisation and Time Management Great administrators are great organisers. Students learn how to manage their workload, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records and filing systems. These are skills that make a real difference in the workplace and in everyday life.
Customer Service and Professional Conduct First impressions matter. Students learn how to represent an organisation professionally in person, on the phone, and in writing. They explore how to handle queries, manage complaints constructively, and maintain a positive, can-do attitude even under pressure.
Business Processes and Documentation Students gain an understanding of the key processes and documents used in business settings including invoices, orders, reports, and meeting notes. They learn how information flows through an organisation and how accurate record-keeping supports effective decision-making.
Health, Safety & Workplace Legislation Every employee needs to understand their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. Students are introduced to key health and safety principles, data protection (GDPR basics), equality and diversity in the workplace, and the importance of confidentiality.
